Personal touch matters! In today’s society living the high life is less about the furnishings and more about the personal touch that goes above and beyond in relationships, experiences and top-notch services. “The minute we stepped into the room we were in awe. Starting from the rooms with the high ceilings and intricate art pieces to the unending inspiration from the Karl Lagerfeld curated library, to the iPads that controlled the entire room and the hotel assistants that treated us like family.”

Getting playful with artisan desserts

Enjoying the chocolate bourbons at Janice Wong Singapore.

“We were gifted a box of chocolates from Janice Wong Singapore weeks before our trip and when we saw the box with its insanely colourful and wickedly sinful chocolates, we knew we had to pay her a visit. The minute we stepped into the restaurant we were in Instagram heaven! There was a painting covered in chocolate that just made us scream with excitement. It was very hard to get us to sit down and eat because all we want to do was take photos. Our stand out pick would be the Cassis Plum followed by every single chocolate (bourbon) in the chocolate bar.”

Uncovering a hidden nook

Elizabeth Lee having fun looking through the assortment of children’s books at Woods in the Books.

“We adore this little-hidden nook of Singapore called Woods in the Books. If you’re a book collector, you must pay this bookshop a visit. We have travelled the world and seen our fair share of bookstores, but this one is specifically for children and it was amazing. Would we travel the world to shop there? Yes! We spent over an hour there and left with a suitcase of books! We can’t wait to go back there again!”

Appetite to ignite the sparks of wanderlust

For food lovers, there’s nothing quite like an appetite to ignite that spark of wanderlust, from dining to a Michelin-star meal in an old colonial home in one of the world’s preserved gardens by UNESCO to a bespoke gastronomical experience at a Michelin-starred Chef’s restaurant.

Shen-Tel and Elizabeth Lee experiencing a lavish meal at Corner House.

“Dining in the Singapore Botanic Gardens in itself is already a sensory overload. From the colonial black and white house which Corner House is located, to dining in a room flooded with natural light surrounded by the lush greens of the gardens to having a meal that was carefully crafted with ingredients of extremely high standards. Everything about the experience was just luxurious in a fresh and modern vibe.”

“At Adrift by David Meyers, we had many small plates which was fun because we got to try different dishes. Dishes included the Japanese big eye tuna sashimi, Iberico Pork Chop, Coconut poached Alaskan Halibut and more. Our top snack was the King Crab Melt! Who doesn’t love a good Alaskan King Crab Sandwich?”

“It is not everyday that you get to dine with an Executive Chef, and we were fortunate enough to. We dined with Chef Haikal Johari who helms Alma by Juan Amador and the dish that stood out for us was the crispy tofu. We are not one to ever order tofu but this dish served with wild mushrooms, black garlic and Foie Gras was the perfect combination of crispy and creamy.”

“Dining at Les Amis Singapore, is the feeling you get when you first fall in love. It is unforgettable and every moment you replay back in your head is filled with warm feelings of joy and happiness. They don’t just create amazing food; they give their customers happiness. The minute we stepped out from our car the Les Amis staff greeted us on the pavement. We were running late but they still seemed to anticipate our arrival. And that for us is impeccable service!”

Shop like an elite

Shen-Tel and Elizabeth Lee being chauffeured around in a Rolls Royce, at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands as part of their personal shopping experience.

“The personal shopping experience at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands made us feel like rock stars! We were driven around in a Rolls Royce car in the mall and every shop that we went to had been notified that we were coming so they got all our sizes ready on a rack beforehand. The Rolls Royce came into amazing use when we didn’t want to carry our copious shopping anymore. We don’t think we can ever shop as a regular person again!”
